EMC Advisory Services Ltd (“EMCAS” or “we”) are a claims management company who provide a service by helping consumers reclaim compensation for the mis-selling of financial products, we help consumers to understand if they have been mis-sold a financial product (Endowments, PPI, Savings and Investments, Pensions and Packaged Bank Accounts) and if they have, we work to get compensation back for them.

How did we obtain your information?


EMCAS employ Data Gathering companies who provide us with records of consumers, who we believe we can potentially help with our services. The information we are provided with is;

  • Telephone number (landline or mobile)



What additional information does EMCAS collect?


In the course of providing the service we will need to collect, use and retain details such as your name, address, telephone number, email address and any other pertinent details. We do this to validate and process any claim entitlement. We may also require personal details of any other individuals who are joint policy account holders with you. We may need to ask for details of any pre-existing medical conditions, on many occasions your banking provider or the Financial Ombudsman may request this information, it sometimes can play a crucial part of your claim.


We collect personal information from you and/or your lender, provider of the bank account/credit card/loan, arranger of PPI, arranger of the Life Assurance policy or Endowment Provider/Vendor.


Individual Rights


EMCAS is obligated under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to advise its consumers and clients what legal basis we use for processing your data, along with what these processes are and why we believe we need to use your information for the processing activity.


EMCAS will process your data for the purpose of your claim under the legal basis ‘contract’, sharing and processing your data with your banking provider, building society or IFA. EMCAS cannot provide you a service without undertaking this type of processing.

EMCAS use AC Print to print and send all letter correspondence to our clients.

Banking Providers, Lenders and IFAs

Name, Address, Postcode, Date of Birth, previous and current Health conditions, policy numbers, bank details, loans, credit cards, mortgage, pension details.

To provide you with our services, EMCAS will need to share and obtain details from your Banking Provider to process a claim.


Name, Address, Postcode, Date of Birth, Product, Policy Numbers.

EMCAS use Docu-sign to send you, your claims pack and Letter of Authority, if you have requested via this method.

Michelmores Solicitors

All case details, correspondence including any call recording.

Where EMCAS requires to take legal action to recover invoice payments, EMCAS will use Michelmores Solicitors implement proceedings

Financial Ombudsman Services (FOS)

Name, Address, Postcode, Date of Birth, Health pre- and current conditions, policy numbers, bank details, loans, credit cards, mortgage, pension details.

If EMCAS does not agree with the outcome of your outcome, we may want to take it the FOS to appeal the decision.

Legal Ombudsman Services (LEO)

Name, Address, Postcode, Date of Birth, previous and current Health conditions, policy numbers, bank details, loans, credit cards, mortgage, pension details including All case details, correspondence including any call recording.

If you happen to complain to EMCAS and we have provided you with a final decision letter. If you do not agree with our response you can go to the LEO to appeal your compliant.

EMCAS use Microsoft to Microsoft software, to run our systems and store information. Don’t worry this is secure and only accessible by EMCAS. 


How long do you keep my data for?


EMCAS will retain information in accordance with our data retention policy, deletion policies and our security policy. All our policies will set out the criteria we use to determine how long we keep your information for. This will include what measures are put in place to keep your information safe and secure. When deciding what to retain, we will consider what information we need to best provide you with our services.


How do I know my information is secure in the hands of EMCAS?


We use secure transmission methods when receiving or sharing your personal information. We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under control from:

  • Unlawful destruction or accidental loss.

EMCAS uses Google AdWords in its website


Google AdWords remarketing allows us to only display adverts we know are relevant to you from your browsing history on our website.
